St. Catharines has two claims to fame its many restaurants and the three attempts to buils a cannal.
St. Catharines is the largest city in the Regional Municipality of Niagara in southern Ontario, Canada. Many people believe it is called The Garden City because of its 1,000 acres (4 kmē) of meticulously groomed parks, gardens and trails. If it had a thousand restaurants would it be called The Restaurant City? Me thinks not.
St. Catharines is the northern entrance of the Welland Canal.
The downtown area of St. Catharines is composed of the area between St. Paul Street to the South and Church Street to the North. The main access routes into and out of St. Catharines are the QEW running from East to West and the Provincial Highway 406 running North to South. St. Catharines station is served by VIA Rail and Amtrak trains connecting it to Toronto and New York City.
